eprObes

Preventing Lifetime Obesity by Early Risk-factor Identification, Prognosis and Intervention

Start date:

End date:

The eprObes project, which stands for "Early Prevention of Obesity," is a patient-centred, multidisciplinary initiative aimed at revolutionizing the understanding and prevention of obesity from early developmental stages throughout the life course. This groundbreaking project addresses the complex and multifaceted nature of obesity, with a particular focus on gender-specific aspects.

eprObes leverages cutting-edge multi-omics studies and comprehensive data analysis, supported by bioinformatics and artificial intelligence. These state-of-the-art technologies enable the project to tailor preventive measures and lifestyle interventions to key developmental periods. The ultimate aim is to mitigate excessive weight gain and avert lifelong metabolic complications for individuals of all genders.

BIO-STREAMS

Multi-Pillar Framework for children Anti-Obesity Behavior building on an EU biobank, Micro Moments and Mobile Recommendation Systems

Start date:

End date:

Bio-Streams takes a multi-faceted approach to leverage health data for the prevention of underage obesity. It establishes a dedicated biobank that compiles real-world health data, including biospecimens, anthropometrics, behavioural data, and cost information, from both retrospective and prospective sources. The project prioritizes efficient data harmonization and standardization to unlock the potential of these data sources.

Furthermore, the Bio-Streams framework for data handling encompasses robust and transparent methodologies for data infrastructures, analysis, and reporting. It integrates meta-reviews and AI-based applications/components, which are rigorously evaluated through a dozen multi-site pilots, involving clinical and school settings. This approach promotes citizen awareness and encourages lifestyle modifications, resulting in the delivery of obesity prevention guidelines and knowledge generation.

Pas Gras

De-Risking Metabolic, Environmental and Behavioral Determinants of Obesity in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults

Start date:

End date:

PAS GRAS is a pioneering project with a bold mission: to prevent and reverse obesity and its associated metabolic complications across four distinct age groups—pre-pubertal children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. This multi-dimensional initiative is built on four fundamental pillars, each aimed at tackling obesity from different angles.

PAS GRAS is poised to lead the charge in reshaping how obesity is approached and addressed across various age groups, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future for Europe.

SHIFT2HEALTH

Development and Evaluation of Nutritional Strategies to Reduce and Prevent Obesity in Shift Workers

Start date:

End date:

SHIFT2HEALTH will contribute to new insights into the nutrition-related mechanisms that lead to obesity in shift workers. It will also develop tailored strategies and solutions to benefit both shift workers and employers. By addressing the unique dietary challenges faced by this population, the project aims to improve the well-being and health of shift workers, reduce the burden on national health systems, and combat the development of obesity among this group in the EU.

Obelisk

Fighting Childhood Obesity to Stay Healthy all Over the Life

Start date:

End date:

The OBELISK project is a multi-faceted initiative aimed at combating the growing obesity pandemic in Europe, focusing on children and adolescents as the starting point. With obesity rates among late teens soaring to alarming levels and posing significant health risks, OBELISK is determined to cut the roots of this crisis. It brings together scientific, medical, social, and community forces to tackle childhood obesity with precision medicine, emphasizing prevention and participation.

BETTER4U

Preventing obesity through Biologically and bEhaviorally Tailored inTERventions for you

Start date:

End date:

BETTER4U is a comprehensive initiative addressing the global challenge of obesity by identifying and managing weight gain determinants through adaptable public health initiatives. Utilizing AI technologies, the project focuses on understanding the polygenic background's impact on lifestyle interventions for weight management. Objectives include deciphering genetics, socio-economic factors, and lifestyle features, developing a prevention methodology, deploying real-time monitoring tools, conducting a clinical trial, and maximizing the methodology's applicability.

OBCT

Obesity: Biological, socioCultural, and environmental risk Trajectories

Start date:

End date:

OBCT Project addresses the disproportionate impact of obesity on lower socioeconomic communities in Europe. By examining biological, sociocultural, and environmental factors across the life course, OBCT provides knowledge, maps, and tools for sustainable obesity prevention. The project aims to advance understanding of obesity risks, identify key behaviours for prevention at life stage transitions, develop a comprehensive obesity risk screener, and offer country-specific obesity trend estimates.

CoDiet

Combatting Diet Related Non-Communicable Disease Through Enhanced
Surveillance

Start date:

End date:

The CoDiet project addresses knowledge gaps in understanding the link between unhealthy diets and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). It aims to develop an advanced dietary assessment method using AI technologies and create a diet-NCD monitoring tool to track population-level changes in NCDs based on diet. The project seeks to overcome limitations in current tools, understand individual variations in diet response, and enhance the understanding of NCD risk factors. By investigating these objectives, CoDiet aims to promote the adoption of NCD-protective diets at a population level, offering insights into the physiological and metabolic links between diet and NCDs.is poised to lead the charge in reshaping how obesity is approached and addressed across various age groups, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more sustainable future for Europe.
